People Are the Pulse

A rich history of superior care and clinical experience.

Since 2002, Comprehensive Care Services (CCS) has been a recognized leader in the medical industry for providing exceptional perfusion and autotransfusion services to medical centers across North America.

At CCS, superior patient care and outcomes are the core of everything we do, and we always work to provide reliable, high-quality perfusion and autotransfusion services in a timely manner in order to help medical centers provide the best possible care for their patients.

Comprehensive Care Services began humbly in 2002 with only a few account hospitals and less than a dozen employees. Adhering to a tenet that every patient deserves the best, safest care possible, perfusionists Patty Fanelli and Chet Czaplicka set out to attract the most talented professionals, all of whom shared their passion for excellence in healthcare. Today, CCS employs over 550 perfusionists, neuromonitoring specialists, perioperative blood management technicians, nurses, and logistics coordination staff. The passion fostered in 2002 has not abated with the growth of the business.

CCS is comprised of highly skilled board-certified or board-eligible perfusionists, anesthesia technicians, PeriOperative Blood Management Technicians (PBMT’s), and licensed RN’s. CCS is certified by the Joint Commission.

A dynamic team committed to delivering unsurpassed quality care.

As a company that was founded by a perfusionist with over 35 years of experience and a company that continues to be owned and operated by practicing perfusionists, we deeply understand the needs of the hospitals, surgeons, and patients that rely on our services.

At CCS, effective patient care and quality outcomes remain the goals of every employee. Clinicians not only must comply with established professional standards; they are continually challenged by rigorous achievement goals. To that end, the company has invested in the future of healthcare with the establishment of several initiatives designed to enhance its leadership in patient care. Crisis Management Training, Clinical Simulation Education, the Comprehensive Care Services Center of Excellence are all designed to hone the skills and competency of every CCS employee. A state-of-the-art Michigan-based education and research center has been established to encourage advancements in technology.

Our mission as a company is built around a high level of care and compassion made possible by cutting-edge technologies and a highly skilled staff.

We believe that success depends on forming lasting relationships.

We believe that corporate success is based on the ability to form lasting relationships with our client partners and the medical professionals we employ.

The term “partnership” is not taken lightly at CCS. Presentation and discussion of CCS quality data, participation in hospital committees, teaching facility employees about new perfusion ideas, blood salvage methods, and neuromonitoring techniques are all mechanisms designed to encourage dynamic positive results.

The CCS finance team is continually exploring methods to optimize client reimbursement and achieve financial symbiosis within our entities. We share savings on disposable products and capital equipment with accounts, realized through our expertise in purchasing and negotiation acquired over the many years of the company’s existence.
